For indie authors / publishers, every sale is a reason to celebrate, and every reader is like the miracle of manna from heaven raining down. Lately, Layla Dog Press has been able to celebrate the gift that thousands of readers have given us—new sales milestones achieved.

Recently, we celebrated the news that we'd passed the 1,000 unit mark in sales for THE ALCHEMIST OF ALEPPO, published earlier this year. That was amazing news and we celebrated with a nice bottle of Oregon Pinot. :)

Thank you to everyone who took a chance on my tale of magical objects and the alchemy of love.

The latest reason to celebrate is that we've officially passed the 40,000-copies-sold threshold for THE SEEDS TRILOGY. While we we have bestselling author friends out there who've sold millions (and good for them!), industry buzz says that the average number of books sold by traditional publishers is around 3,000 and the vast majority of books sell an average of around 250 copies. (Remember, we're talking averages here and there are gazillions of books in the world.)

Anyway, however you want to slice it, selling over 1,000 copies of a book published this year and selling 40,000+ copies of our series is a big deal for us. So YAY for our readers who made this possible! THANK YOU!

And we’re still chugging along, writing in the wee hours, intent on getting our next stories out to our readers—new and old?
